DIY Heart Shaped Balloon

Finding a craft to do on a stormy night is not always easy. If you don’t have a lot of materials at home, then it can be challenging to find something that occupies your night and looks great.
Thisheart shaped balloon is very eye catching. It can be performed by people of all skill levels, even beginners at crafting. It is cute because it resembles a real hot air balloon. Any aficionado knows that doing crafts that look like real life objects are in high demand. It all started with the mini furniture trend.
So if you want to try out a new task today, then start by gathering the list of necessary supplies. Then get a group of friends together with a bottle of wine for a folk art night. Or alternatively, you can also get your children the supplies and do this as a fun family project that creates memories for a lifetime.
DIY Heart Shaped Balloon
First, take one of your red cardboards, fold it on half and draw some half heart shape from the folding to the side. When you are finished with drawing the heart, when you have the right size and perfect shape you are going to cut that heart using scissors.
You’ve cut the heard shape and you should get something like on the picture below. Now, continue this procedure or repeat the same step for all your red cardboards. I’ve used 6-7 cardboards you can always use more or less depending of the effect you want to get.
When you have all your hearts cut, it’s time to continue with the next step and that is folding your hearts on half.
Now, take your hot glue gun and start gluing the hearts together. Divide your hearts on half take the one half and start putting some glue on the fold of the heart and place that heart inside the folding of the previous one. Repeat the same procedure for all your hearts so you are going to get some interesting look.
Now it’s time to glue the two parts of the hear repeating the same procedure. Glue one side with hearts on the folding in the center of the other heart.
For gluing I’ve used hot glue gun but you can use any type of glue you think will work. Also, know that you can choose different color for your heart and the cardboard that you are going to use.
Now the box, I’ve used little box with size around 10cm x 10cm. How big your bow will be depends of your taste and your ideas. One additional advice you can also use box in round shape the final result will be really good too.
Now take your sticks and start gluing them one by one in the box. Take one stick, put some hot glue and place it in the one corner of the box.
Put some glue on the upper side of the stick and glue the hearts that you’ve made previously.
Repeat the same procedure for the four sticks. On the side up when you are going to glue the sticks on the balloon just pick different layer of the heart for every stick.
When you have this step finished you’ve completed this DIY project successfully. In the box you can put some candies.
I’ve decided to fill it with white artificial flowers. Also, I’ve made one little card out of cardboard. I’ve cut a little piece and I wrote a quote using black marker. The quote was “20 years flying together”. Please know that you can always use some other message. When you have your quote finish just clip it on the box with the peg.
This can be perfect gift for any occasion, like anniversary, valentine’s day, birthday etc.
