Perfect and Easy DIY Gift for Loved One

Finding the right gift to give to your significant other can be a challenge, especially if you have been together for a long time. It can seem like they have already received all of the typical gifts, so sometimes the best thing is to resort to something that is handmade. Handmade, do-it-yourself gifts offer a personal touch that gifts from the store do not. You can make sure that a handmade gift speaks to your significant other in a deep way.
For those couples who enjoy books or literature, this gift could be the perfect one for any special occasion, whether it is a birthday, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, or just because. You can use a page from a book that carries a special significance to your relationship to craft the perfect gift that is sure to make your significant other very happy. If you are looking for just the right present for the next significant event in your significant other’s life, this handmade gift could be the right fit.
First, take your newspaper or magazine and start looking for one side filled with letters. Rip that page and start drawing branches of tree over the letters. Make sure that the tree your tree is not too big so it can fit in the frame.
Now one of your cardboards in my case the white one, measure the size of your frame and mark the same dimensions on your cardboard and cut it. For this step you can also put the cardboard that is already in the frame when you buy it, put it on your cardboard and cut another piece of your cardboard with the same size. When you cut the rectangle make sure that it’s going to fit in the frame.
When you have finished this you can now take the branches of the tree that you’ve previously draw and cut them. Put it on the white cardboard to see if it fits.
As you can see on my picture mine was bigger than the cardboard so first I glue it on the cardboard and then I cut the rest that was going out of the cardboard. For gluing I was using regular glue, you can use any type of glue that you think will work.
Take one little piece of paper, you can use some of the newsletter, fold it on half and cut it in half heart shape so when you are going to open it you will get perfect shaped heart. This you are going to use to help you draw two same sized hearts from the other cardboard that you’ve chosen to use, in my case red one.
When you are finished with drawing cut your hearts and use some regular glue to put the hearts on the white cardboard with the tree. I’ve decided to glue mine below one of the branches.
With this step I’ve finished my gift.
As I told you previously instead of old newspaper you can use old book for the tree. Just to share one of my projects that I’ve made previously to give you other idea of something similar. Instead of using newspaper and draw a tree you can take black cardboard and start drawing different shapes, you can also draw the tree again. My idea was to draw shapes of people that are going to look like shades. Your black shapes can be glued on white cardboard. It can be shapes of boy and girl standing under a tree and the leafs of the tree can be red heart shaped. You can also search on Google for more similar ideas. One just came in mind to me. Make heart shape with butterflies flying around, but the shape don’t have to be perfect, they can be flying away on the one side.
